International Airport is less than an hour away.
The fastest growing region in Louisiana,
with an influx of approximately 500 people per month, St. Tammany's present
population is estimated at 170,000. Named after Delaware Indian Chief Tamenand,
the parish was first explored in 1699 by French-Canadian Pierre Le Moyne
Iberville, the first European to sight Lake Pontchartrain in what is now
Louisiana. It wasn't until 1785, that families from Georgia and the Carolinas
began to settle the territory. Claims were staked along the Tchefuncte, Bogue
Falaya and other rivers and bayous, and in time villages became cities, while
much of the pristine rural areas of St. Tammany Parish have been kept
intact.
Covington - the seat of parish
government. Established in 1813, it contains the courthouse and other parish
offices such as the Registrar of Voters, Clerk of Courts, Sheriff, School Board

boutiques, magnificent art galleries, unique specialty shops and of an array of

artist retreat. This community began as a Choctaw Indian Village, has gained
worldwide recognition as a health mecca and is now a thriving center for
musicians, sculptors and other creative artists. The Tammany Trace Recreational

visitors every month, as do the festivals, the local cafes, and the quiet, laid
back lifestyle.

Selling Your Home >An Empty House
There are two schools of thought about whether it is better to show a house empty or with the furnishings in it. An empty house is like a blank canvas, and prospective buyers can more easily imagine what their things would look like in it. But buyers could take the fact that the house is vacant as a sign that the sellers are very anxious to sell and, therefore, might entertain a low offer.
Our recommendations are usually based on how the house would look. Personal taste is highly subjective. Unless your furniture looks really wonderful and is neutral in color and conservative in style, it could distract buyers from the most attractive qualities of your home. The fact that your home is vacant could give it a competitive edge when they make their final selection. Will it attract low offers? It might, but if the price is right, it will attract reasonable offers, too.
